Dangerpenny are a Brisbane based progressive-alternative rock band. Rampant with blistering live energy the band vocalises free speech, rebellion, passion, rage and individuality through music packed with intense and involved live shows. The group is quickly gaining a reputation on the East Coast of Australia as an alternative powerhouse in music and performance, whilst subconsciously provoking the human experience in deeper motives intertwined in their songs.
2017 has been a large leap forward for the band, supporting the likes of The Gooch Palms, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Andrew Stockdale and ECCA VANDAL to name a few. Emerging with 3 powerful singles beginning with the uplifting joyride ‘Way of life’ to the release of their darker and more progressive 'Wash' then popping ear-worm 'Happy Place' towards the second half of the year, the quartet continued to display their limitless and unrestrained style and soundscape.
2017 proved to be a year of growth for Dangerpenny and through their experiences it has given them the inspiration to delve further into their innovative writing. They will be releasing their next EP mid 2018 and it’s going to be as diverse and surprising as their first.
