David Mercy is a singer/songwriter from Fremantle, Western Australia. His songs of life, love and loss set to acoustic guitar and harmonica tell a universal story. Influenced by Paul Kelly, Neil Young and Bon Iver, Dave recorded his first full length CD “Pictures of You” in late 2013 and has recently released his second full length album “David Mercy”. The latest album features a new band and is produced by James Gillard (Mondo Rock, Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers) and mastered by Grammy award winning engineer William Bowden ( Gotye, Eskimo Joe, Tim Finn, The Church) David earned a 2016 WAM Song of the Year Nomination for the song “Wonders Never Cease” from the new CD. Live show highlights include the Nannup festival of Music and supports to sold out shows with Suzanne Vega, Ian Moss, James Reyne, Things of Stone and Wood, Kav Temperley Joan Armatrading and the Hoodoo Gurus. Two headline shows at The Ellington Jazz Club in March 2016 were a sellout. With a new band featuring John Wilson (double bass), Angus Diggs (drums) and Lucky Oceans and a new CD in development 2016 is looking like the best yet.
