Death and a Cure is an Australian indie-rock folk act performed by singer-songwriter Ben Blondel. Since the project began in 2008, Ben has drawn on an eclectic range of influences such as Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, Dallas Green, Damien Rice, Angus Stone and John Mayer. Always aspiring to create the music he loves, he counts himself lucky to now be winning the hearts of fans the world over.
Recently teaming up with LA based Bleed101 records has brought Death and a Cure to huge audiences through deals with MTV, CBS and ABC, seeing his music played on popular US TV shows like Reckless, 16 and Pregnant, Teen mom 2, Underemployed, Twisted, Switched at Birth, Pointe Break and Degrassi.
Death and a Cure's second album was released in April, 2015. The 12 track LP, 'Red Sky Night' is a collection of easy listening/ alternative folk tunes recorded and produced at Chad Blondel Studios, Perth, WA and mastered by Don Bartley at Benchmark Studios, Sydney.
In addition to the album, Death and a Cure has a back catalogue of 1 LP ‘Oceans, Lovers and Empires’, 1 EP 'Death and a Cure' and 2 singles 'The Endless Escape' and 'The Spin You've Got Me In'. You can get your hands on the music through the website or any major online digital retailer.
Ben is also known for his role as singer/songwriter for post-hardcore outfit In League. Ben ceased involvement in the band in 2013 and continues to write and perform under Death and a Cure.
