Bio

Arun Roberts just wanted to get away from the metronome.

He took that desire and 8 players into a living room and made the Dirt Hand EP. Songs off this first work would appear in a handful of independent films and had him playing alongside the likes of Leah Senior, Ella Hooper and Ben Salter. 2 years later Dirt Hand was back in the studio with a new, deeper concept and a ferocious, improv-based band process.

The result is called The Thorn Variations and it is out now on all major digital streaming services.

Very dark and theatrical. It's unusual in the way you've connected your voice, the slight spoken word / story telling, those drums, production elements and then the horns. It takes you on a whirlwind of emotion. I'm left feeling unsettled, uneasy and a bit of a mess. But I've come to peace with it by the end. I love all the experimentation.

Loving the sexy and dark vibe coming off this one. Swamp goth with a touch of Nick Cave. Perfect.
