Paying homage to debauchery and misadventure with their swamp-swagger set-on-fire sound, Doc Holliday Takes The Shotgun cares not for gimmicks. The blues-punk thrashabilly band’s live show is guns blazing from the get go. As dwellers of Sydney warehouses, the five-piece formed in 2010. They make home-brewed hard-liquor music that’ll have you stomping toes and rolling ankles on the dance floor. Unapologetic in their expression, unforgiving in their execution and refusing to be ignored Doc Holliday Takes The Shotgun often take their shows into the crowd for a wildly penetrating, sweat driven experience. After close to 50 shows in 2011 alone, Doc Holliday Takes The Shotgun have played every setting, whether it be bars, boat sheds, apartments, warehouses or Sydney’s finest venues (The Standard, The Beresford, The World Bar etc.). While remaining unique in style amongst their peers, the band has already been successful in the local touring circuit being billed along side acts such as The Death Set, DZ Deathrays, Bleeding Knees Club, Hunting Grounds, Dune Rats, Spookyland, Kill City Creeps and more. Doc Holliday Takes The Shotgun’s debut release, the ‘Boot Hill EP’, is now locked and loaded.
