Bio

Doonie Way are a four-piece Alternative/Punk Rock band from Gippsland.

Getting their name from a street sign near a family members house, Doonie Way started as a high school band between good mates Tim Irwin (Vocals, Guitar) and Blaike Murphy (Drums) covering 90s grunge rock. The boys later wanted to release their own music and recruited Bryce Robinson (Lead guitar) and D’Arcy Connaughton (Bass) to form the full band.

Combining their shared love of alt and surf rock, the boys established their sound and, in 2018 released their debut single ‘Summer’ backed closely by their EP ‘The Summer EP’. In 2019 the boys released a rework of ‘Pavement’ which proved to be a crowd favourite, as well as their most popular single to date ‘Safe N Sound’

Doonie Way have been playing venues across the state and have shared the stage with artists such as Hands Like Houses, The Smith Street Band, Young Lions and The Bennies. The band plan to release a new music in 2020 and solidify their place in the scene.

Knocked this one out of the park guys! Solid, punchy and a belter of a chorus!

Making a new playlist with my fave local larrikan anthems and I'm gonna name it Dear Doonie Rats. This band could easily hang in the middle with those two big names, truss me.
