The Downstairs Mix-Up came together due to the economic turndown. Some seriously bad lending and the weakness of their accumulated dollar meant that strength in numbers was necessary. After winning the 20th Anniversary National Campus Band Competition (NCBC) in September 2009 the band has been hard at work recording their debut EP as well as playing local shows. “NCBC has help launch the careers of Eskimo Joe, The Vasco Era and Jebidiah.
