Bio

13 is shaping up to be a big year for EATER OF THE SKY. With an upcoming appearance at PUSH OVER as part of the PUSH START Battle Of The Bands, a debut EP , and their first national tour, things are starting to really move forward for the Bendigo trio after an up and down 2012. After forming in 16months ago, EATER OF THE SKY refined themselves back to a 3 piece at the beginning of 2012, and bunkered down to spend several months in intense rehearsal and writing. On the back of this, they were able to put their first release out and had success in the heats of the Push Start Battle Of The Bands. Having positive responses and interest from their live performances from their display of solid technical ability, dynamic sound and energy on stage, they drew fans at each show. This attention saw them head interstate for the first time, land their first big supports (Stonefield, Antagonist AD (NZ), Owl Eyes, Kingswood and Shinto Katana) and a have victory in the Push Start Regional finals. Yet the year ended on a sour note with a serious hand injury to bassist Declan, forcing them to cancel plans for their first national run of shows. This forced time off offered ample time to prepare for their EP, and aim for a huge year. EOTS is unique band to have come out of Central Victoria - an area usually known for its gold mining, Chicko Rolls and reputation as the state’s ‘Hoon Capital’. Their first demo displays solid influences from Primus, Fall Of Troy & At The Drive In, while continuing the reputation for a blistering live performance along the likes of recent Australian rock machines Mammal, Karnivool and COG. Eater Of The Sky are a band for those that enjoy the intense energy and dynamics found only at live shows.
