For South Australian based band Echo and the Empress, 2015 is set to be an exciting year having just recently played the John Peel Stage at none other than the famous Glastonbury Festival in the UK. This opportunity took them by surprise whilst they were still riding on the coat tails of their 2013 UK tour, where they joined the line-up for Brighton’s Great Escape Festival alongside other pop gems such as UK's famous Bastille! This connection has all emerged for the sisters after being spotted on stage at McLaren Vale’s 2012 Gorgeous Festival by the UK’s own highly regarded festival booker Martin Elbourne, who took an immediate shining to the bands vivacious and harmonic sound. They recently played Bigsound Festival in Brisbane and are playing a few shows for Adelaide Fringe Festival in March 2015.

Their single ‘One More Tear’ took the UK by storm and is played on radio stations all around the country and internationally. And to further the tracks buzz, it’s sweet but enchanting film clip took out the award for Best South Australian clip in 2013 at the National Independent Video Awards. E&E’s latest achievement saw them nominated as one of five bands for Best Pop Band in the 2014 Fowlers Live Music Awards, also being nominated for Best Music Video for their latest single ‘London Town.’
Their first ever single ‘Balloon’ also reached number one on the Australian National Community Radio AIRIT charts (top ten tracks most ordered for airplay in a week) in June 2011.

To add to the recent exciting events, the girls have just released a new single The Gun produced by Joel Chapman in Sydney.... so keep your eyes and ears open and ready for an exciting year of new releases and international tour dates.
