Bio

It is the songwriter's purpose to synthesise expression and communication from the raw elements of thought and melody. To do so requires a masterful understanding of the intricate relationship between sound and human emotion; an innate strength of Sydney songbird Eden Embers, who's eclectic, ethereal melodies have enraptured fans and fellow artists alike.
Eden's atmospheric, piano-driven tunes evoke the air of artists such as Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone and Matt Corby; influences collected throughout a childhood spent exploring music and writing alternate scores for her favourite films.
Her musical growth has continued at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she trains in both classical and contemporary disciplines, whilst also engrossing herself in the emergent science of Music Therapy.
“Music reaches to the core of who we are as a people,” says Eden. “It transcends all psychological barriers, all illness, all language. It can be a powerful tool to help people.”
This knowledge permeates Eden's creative processes, and is evident in her approach to songwriting, which she considers to be the encapsulation of “ideas, memories and feelings that weave in and out of your mind all day.”
“Each song is a sub-conscious expression of the mind, like a dream. It may not make sense at first, but can always be understood in hindsight, within the context of your life and the rest of your thoughts.”
“So, I want my music to capture those momentary feelings, and to immerse the listener in them.”
Eden's thoughts on her debut single, For You:
“I wanted to capture the ambiguity and uncertainty of growing up, of becoming a person I don’t understand yet. The lyrics contradict each other; the little bird doesn't want to fly away, but also doesn't want to settle down. I like that it sits in an ambivalent energy.”
Eden Embers is currently recording her debut EP, and has begun a run of intimate performances around Sydney.

Powerful vocal and a ripper climax at the end of this thing. What a compelling first offering this is.
