Bio

Musical powerhouse, Elana Stone, explores the complexities of relationships in the digital age with her new single ‘Permanent Limbo’, premiered via Music Feeds.

Sonically akin to Daft Punk and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, this songstress has her own unique imprint on the pop-electronica genre with her new single 'Permanent Limbo'. Written in 2019, the single was produced alongside Josh Pyke and Luke Moseley (Butternut Sweetheart) and mixed in Los Angeles by Tony Buchen (Montaigne, The Preachers etc); the track was originally inspired by a long-distance relationship that broke down while touring with her band All Our Exes Live In Texas.

"I am so excited about this release because it's fun and danceable but it has its roots in a story of love and loss. It was cathartic to write and it will be cathartic to release and share during this moment of historic uncertainty. It is essentially a danceable electronic pop anthem to accompany the merging of humans and technology and potentially the end of life as we know it.," explains Elana.

With her roots residing in jazz and folk, Elana is an artistically diverse and shape-shifting artist, that has seen collaborate with the likes of Passenger, Washington, Donny Benet, Urthboy, and many others over her career.

Spending the last 6 years on tour with her 4-part lady folk band All Our Exes Live in Texas, selling out venues in Australia and internationally, their album When We Fall ranked 8th place on the ARIA charts in 2017 and additionally won an ARIA award for Best Blues and Roots Album that same year. Additional accolades include winning a National Live Music Award in 2017, playing Splendour in the Grass Festival in 2018, and receiving an AIR award for Best Independent Blues and Roots Album in 2018. Always keeping busy, she is also touring as a backup vocalist, percussionist and keyboard player for Missy Higgins and John Butler Trio.

Permanent Limbo? Yeah that hits pretty flesh on the feels considering the year we've all had lol. At least Elana's made purgatory - whether that be in a long distance relationship or 'normal' life - sound a bit brighter with this swinging, classic pop sound.
