Eleanor Dixon is a strong Mudburra woman from the remote Northern Territory community of Marlinja. With a passion and drive beyond her years, Eleanor has shared her music and stories at national festivals, won awards and performed with some of the biggest names in the Australian music industry. Eleanor is ambitious and grounded, kind and powerful, thoughtful and outspoken, proud and humble. She is passionate about keeping language and song lines strong and in forging a path for herself, and other Indigenous female artists, in contemporary music. As the first woman to perform at the Bush Bands Bash (the premier music event for Aboriginal bands in Central Australia), and the first to pave the way for women in music in the Barkly region, Eleanor has become a leader for Indigenous women of all ages.
