Elena Nees

Bio

Elena Dakota spends her time between Adelaide and Fremantle, having migrated across the country in January this year. In that time, she has released a handful of singles and self-released a full length album titled "Carrier". "Carrier", released in September, is a spacious and unassuming folk-ish record, made in the Adelaide Hills over the past two years. It is a patchwork assemblage of sounds from a time in which Elena was shifting away from the lo-fi electronic pop songs of her previous moniker Allume. As Allume, Elena released two EPs through Melbournes beloved casette tape label Healthy Tapes and opened with acts such as Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Ball Park Music. She also is a member of Adelaide bands Introduction!, Rex Wonderful and the Silk Sheets, Dave Blumberg & The Maraby Band and Hummingbird, playing bass, percussion & vocals. She has plans to record a second folk/pop album before the years end, and also wrapping up a collection of electronic songs too released at a mysterious future date.

OMG this was so nice to stumble into. Love the home made, close-up, peaceful thoughtfulness of this track. Love it!

i've heard about this glass frog where you can see it's heart beating through it's skin. this is what this song sounds like, looking in on such a pristine and tender thing.

there's something equally sweet and sinister about this one's simplicity.
