Bio

Ethereal, dreamy and heart-felt is what Eliza Hull does best. Whether it is emotive lyrics, or the trip hop inspired sound-scapes that surround them, each moment of her performance compels the listener to enter her world. Eliza's EP 'The Ghosts You Never Catch' was almost entirely produced by Folktronica rising star Hayden Calnin with beat production being handed to songwriter and producer, Dylan Hill. The EP began its life in New York where Eliza worked on one of the tracks with Pat Dillett and Doveman, who have previously worked with Antony & The Johnsons, Julia Stone and The National, the remaining tracks were recorded with Hayden in his bunker studio at the peninsula. Lead tracks Christopher and Echoes landed spots in American MTV show Awkward, triple j support and positive reviews nationally. The past year has seen Eliza share stages across the country with Gossling, Iluka, Ainslie Wills, Hayden Calnin and Texture Like Sun, as well as completing a successful run of shows across Europe and the United States and selling out two Melbourne launch dates. Eliza is currently working on her debut album for release in late 2014. There's something almost hymnal to this song. It wouldn't surprise me if it's been recorded in a church. It really captures that sense of longing.

Eliza Hull, is one of the best, if not the the best female vocalists in the country at this point in time. Far ranging vocals with meaningful lyrics, and an ethereal quality few are able to obtain. In combination with Hayden Calnin on production, this is certainly an artist to keep an ear out for. I'm looking forward to her future releases. A tour de force!
