Bio

Emma Davis grew up in London and moved to Sydney in search of a little more light. Her first record, pieced together in a Newtown terrace was a display of beautifully honest storytelling and quickly established her as a respected musician in the Sydney scene. After building a studio in a furniture joinery, the songwriter spent the last two years collecting sounds and crafting her second record, to be released in 2018. Produced with Greg Walker (Paul Kelly, Tiny Ruins, Jen Cloher, Machine Translations), the album sees Emma’s stirring lyrical details and intricate guitar work woven with playful beats, found sounds and soft melancholic synth. The stunning single ’Danger in me’, lifted from the record late last year, was a succinct plea for equality that resonated with many and won Emma places on several of Spotify and Apple Music’s best of playlists.

The drumming and rhythm patterns in this track kind of remind me of tune-yards in their level of maturity. Love the folky sound of Emma's voice and after seeing her play live I can assure you this is a very special artist.
