Members of the Emma Fair Band, based in Launceston, Tasmania, knew each other for several years as each played around the local music scene in various outfits before coming together in early 2007 to collaborate on Emma’s songs. A tasty array of musical influences has enabled these four to create a unique atmospheric brand of emotive jazz-infused folk rock. Emma Fair’s vocal pallet of warm shady lows supporting a sparkling yet edgy soprano range delivers the lyrical surprises and expressive melodic cues that are a signature of her songs. By their 3rd show, the Emma Fair Band were impressing audiences, gaining the right to represent Tasmania and compete in Australia's National Campus Band Competition in Melbourne this year and are currently at #2 on Triple J’s “Unearthed” website for their track “Who Feels it the Same”. This year Emma is pursuing her dreams of performing on stage by studying Theatre & Performance in Brisbane. During her frequent visits back to her hometown, the Emma Fair Band get busy with gigs and rehearsals, working with Emma's new ideas to inspire fresh works. A tour of Brisbane is scheduled for Sept. 4-9 2008 with performances at Ric’s Bar, the Red Room and Kitty O’Sheas amongst others.

An interesting b...
An interesting band. The vocals don't really match the music, but I think that's what you're trying to do. Keep writing songs, I reckon you've got better ideas to come.
