Bio

Emmi is the Perth raised songstress you need to know.

Working as a songwriter for other artists all over the globe for many years, Emmi didn't step into the light until 2015 when she dropped her first ironically titled single 'My Kinda Swag'. Her bravery was rewarded. It received critical acclaim worldwide. The Guardian called the sultry debut 'one of the highlights of 2015' the day it was released, and the song soon went on to win over the ears of BBC Radio 1's DJs, being named 'Track of the Week'. Triple J Unearthed as well as Triple J also jumped on the track, giving it some love in the months to follow.

Her second single 'Sleep On It' won her a fan in none other than Taylor Swift who tweeted about the song in a list of "new songs that will make your life more awesome". The world took note. Emmi then lent her songwriting and vocal chops to two features, with overwhelming success. One took her to fair Paris, collaborating with Feder on radio hit 'Blind', a smooth banger of a tune that stayed top ten in the French official charts for a matter of months. The other 'Our Youth' was a collaboration with Norwegian newcomer Sonny Alven, the success of which has seen a lovely 'twice platinum sales' plaque hung on Emmi's bedroom wall and has clocked up more than 30 million streams to date on Spotify alone.

With the UK, Europe and the US seemingly in hand, Emmi returned home as one of the nominees for MTV Brand New 2016...eventually taking the crown as winner! In case world domination wasn't enough, Emmi's other worldly voice earned a ticket to quite literally the other world... when she scored her first film role as a jazz singing goblin in JK Rowling's latest offering 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'. As you do...

To celebrate the hype of last year, Emmi now sets free her latest independent baby "Talk To Me"... a triumphant pop tune that deals with the human desire to be heard and understood. Emmi has cut together a fan made video of people all over the world walking to the rhythm of her song...from places as far flung as Egypt, Venezuela, Los Angeles, Kenya, Mexico, Alaska and of course her home town of Perth. Check it out in the vid link!

Thanks for listening! And be sure to get in touch on Emmi's FB, twitter or insta and say hey! She nearly always says hey back...

An absolute pop gem right here. Bangin' chorus and overall showcasing great songwriting chops.

It'd hardly be original of me to liken EMMI to another Australian pop export with great hair and a powerhouse voice *cough* Sia Furler *cough*. While that's not an unflattering comparison I reckon this song shows EMMI's asserting her own style. If you're looking for magnetic, big-chorus'd pop then she's got the goods.

Voice is killer, production and performance likewise. I'm held back only by the lyrics otherwise I'd be deep in this.
