Bio

Melbourne band Eternal Crush are made up of ethereal vocalist Joey Jean and guitarist Jackson Holliday. Holliday, who makes up a sixth of Northeast Party House, first heard Jean singing in a friend’s Instagram story and the pair began collaborating via email. They formed Eternal Crush, finding harmony writing together, with Jean singing and Holliday playing guitar.

An early demo found it’s way into the Outpost office’s weekly meeting and by Friday the pair had been offered a management deal. In March 2019 Eternal Crush began recording their debut EP with Gab Strum aka Japanese Wallpaper in his Melbourne studio.

Lucifer is the first track from their narrative driven debut EP, inspired by a mutual love for the Drive soundtrack. The music is dreamy and 80’s influenced - as Jean puts it “Eternal Crush is pop music, quite simply and quite obviously”. “Lucifer is about when love turns ill, a relationship with a sort of Stockholm Syndrome dynamic and feeling doomed to sink with that ship”

Spent a few weeks with this one, letting it really burrow under my skin. Super smart synth pop.

Simply gorgeous in the way it has you sinking in deeper and deeper with it. I love that glowing pulse.

Lyrically, this is giving me real Gaga 'I want your love/I don't wanna be friends' vibes. You lay it all out on the table, with the power beats to match.
