Bio

Future disco duo Fancy Feelings is the Brooklyn-based collaboration between Sydney raised Oli Chang (Animal Feelings) and award-winning composer Zac Colwell (Fancy Colors).

Oli Chang who featured in iconic dream-pop band High Highs, has a knack of creating modern-classics for dance ensembles, while his ventures as Animals Feeling has seen him produce emotionally resonant dance music ranging from the deep disco of Tiger and Woods to the seductive ambience of Nils Frahm. Chang’s Animal Feelings project saw him produce hit single ‘Falling’ that amassed over two million streams across platforms and highlighted just how gifted a lyricist and producer Chang was.

Always once to excel in collaborations Chang has teamed up with good friend Zac Colwell who was part of psychedelic pop legends of Montreal. Colwell has lead his band Fancy Colors since 2012 and has been a mainstay in the New York music scene for over a decade now, playing in band Jupiter One, CHAPPO and Voyager Collective. Colwell is known for his commercial compositions for the likes of Porsche, while he is a multi-instrumentalist jack of all trades performing on saxophones, flute, drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards.

Together they formed Fancy Feelings, who produce funk-laden hits not often heard in modern electronic sound. The duo’s old-school disco sound is perfect for laid-back pop vocals and led to them releasing their debut EP ‘Summer of Love’ in 2019. Tracks such as Nyla (feat. Anya Marina), and Lush (feat. Mammals) were instant hits for the duo showcasing their ability to produce lavishly layered nu-disco masterpieces.

The duo has recently signed with Sunset Mesa Records, an LA-based label coming from the founders of Australian independent label Sweat It Out. Their most recent release ‘Future’ features the most heard Brazilian voice in the world Zeeba, and is sure to be another sun-soaked bop.

Feels like fate that I heard this on the day that Daft Punk announced their retirement. Soothe your disco duo needs with this one from Fancy Feelings; I'm all about that euphoric house rush and there's more than a fingerprint of French touch to it.
