About

Fanny Lumsden & the Thrillseekers are, yes, another alt-country/folk/pop band with a female front woman, yet they well and truly stand apart as they back up their gingham-get-ups with real deal experience and music to boot. Growing up on a farm, not only can Fanny ride a horse and shoot a gun, but she also writes her songs on the tractor and plays in glorious old country halls. Fanny wrote the track Sea Elephant School whilst sitting on the verandah on the family’s farm in the shadow of Mt Buffalo. Inspired by her Grandmothers stories of life dictated by a Mountain and growing up on King Island where the Sea Elephant School was a beacon for the community, Fanny produced a heartfelt track that was a direct interpretation of her surroundings. The track was produced by Matt Fell of Love HZ studios and recorded in the most part in the lounge room of the bands terrace house in Surry Hills with an upturned couch and the giant teddy bear (Morris) for support.
