Bio

Hailing from the live music capital of the world - Melbourne - Fat Tommy (aka Tom Mills - now in the Illawarra) has found his way to the studio and is making his mark producing artists such as Ali Morgan (Glitter on the sea). His high-school background playing bass in original and cover bands was followed by years of solo acoustic sets. Leaning heavily on rhythmic motifs and jazz flavours through those years has held him in good stead to present his full scale live looping setup, featuring electronic drum kit, synths, bass, acoustic and electric guitar.

Fat Tommy tunes are driven by distinctive, catchy drum grooves and melodic bass lines, and from those foundations - anything goes. Having an infinite combination of flavours to choose from, he explores as much as musically possible within the context of looping. Dance, soul, house, rock, funk, jazz, are all on offer in a live Fat Tommy set, and he touches on all these genres in his upcoming releases. Initially intending to release a full-length album, Tom was able to distinguish two cohesive EP’s as a result of the last two years songwriting efforts.

Not done in the studio yet - expect more production credits in the near future from Fat Tommy as well as collaborations with a wide range of artists.
