Before the stage name ‘The Fawn’ came about Nicky de Blank released her first EP Album entitled Wings in 2014 and then started travelling the world. She is a multi-instrumentalist who is often compared to the likes of Missy Higgins, Jewel and Nora Jones with her bluesy style piano but laid back finger-picking style acoustic guitar. Whilst away she picked up a few different techniques with her piano and guitar and bought a ukulele to travel with and learn on the road. She was fortunate enough to share her music in Scotland at the Fringe festival and various pubs in Thailand, France and England. After coming back to Australia she formed the duo ‘The Tiger & The Fawn’ with her friend Andy, after 9 months of playing together they decided to part ways and focus on their own music. Nicky kept the stage name ‘The Fawn’ and has been gigging around Perth with lots of different musicians at open mic nights and hosts a jam session each week. She has written songs whilst on the road and a few since being home and is looking to record another EP or album soon.
