Bio

Hailing from the Sunshine Coast in QLD, Fieu (pronounced fee-yoo) is a vibrant indie-pop songstress with a sound influenced by the likes of Sia, Vera Blue and Florence Welch. Having been described as “Simply cinematic, rich with perfectly-timed explosions of liberation and inspiration", her songs are emotional yet energising, showcasing soaring vocals with sophisticated electro-pop layers.

Since beginning her journey in 2014, Fieu has topped Triple J unearthed charts, gained national radio play, and has been recognized for her writing as a finalist in the International Songwriting Contest and a highly commended in the 2016 Queensland Music Awards. She is no stranger to the stage with past shows including Jungle Love Festival, Teneriffe Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Australian Music Week and Brisbane International Tennis as well as having embarked on two East Coast tours off the back of her debut EP.

Having worked with Sydney producer Tim Carr (Matt Corby,Urthboy) to record her first EP titled ‘Put It On The Line’, Fieu has since taken to Perth to embrace a new and refined sonic direction with producer Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe, Meg Mac). In 2016, Fieu released her buoyant pop single “impossible” which gained much critical acclaim.

2019 sees Fieu’s definitive return with her latest offering “Cheaper Than A Drug”, set to feature on her upcoming sophomore EP later in the year.

This song is one of those novelty size colourful swirly lollipops you get at your local fare, nice one! I'm hearing some early Sia in the vocals too.

Exciting to discover another brilliant female vocalist! Florence Welch-esque qualities. If you don't own a glittery cape and wind machine, you should invest.
