Bio

Fifth Dawn was formed in November 2014. The members all hailing from Performing Arts High Schools representing Nepean High (Ethan, Mark & Jamie) and Newtown High (Samantha). Their skills as musicians was developed at a very early age.

They began experimenting with different sounds and combining their individual influences into their writing which allowed them to create a unique and innovative heavy alternative rock/metal sound (for fans of Flyleaf, Evanescence & Paramore). The band spent time developing and refining their sound with Richie Newman of Buried In Verona who produced their debut EP "The Horizon" in April of 2015.

In 2015, Fifth Dawn were Triple J Unearthed High Finalists after uploading their debut single ‘Turbulence’ to Triple J Unearthed. Their debut single 'Turbulence' sold more than 5000 copies in the second half of 2015 after making its radio debut on Triple J. The band was offered opening slots for Hands Like Houses, Columbus and Far Away Stables playing shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Their debut EP ‘The Horizon’ generated over 500,000 plays on Spotify.

In 2017, original vocalist Samantha Faul had returned which reignited the band. Shortly after creative minds had stirred and an album was in the works.

In September 2017, Fifth Dawn released their first single from the album, ‘Pressure’ which saw the excitement from fans with the return of the original vocalist, and to once again see Fifth Dawn creating and releasing music. ‘Pressure’ was added to rotation on Triple J Unearthed and spot played on Triple J. ‘Pressure’ was well received by the YouTube Community and with various AMV versions created by anonymous fans, receiving huge play counts pushing the track worldwide.

The second single ‘Defying Symmetry’ from their debut album ‘Duality’ was released with the bands first ever music video on the 30th of March 2018.

Their Debut Album 'Duality' is set to release on the 27th April 2018.

BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG. Some clever dynamics and some moments where you pull it back but when you go... you really go. Hope you're as good live as you are on this record because there's gonna be some kids at your shows with high hopes now!
