Bio

Finn Pearson is a young singer-songwriter based out of Fremantle, WA. Drawing influence initially from traditional folk music, Finn spent his high school years playing solo at small venues. Before the age of 18 he was three-times finalist in the Fairbridge Festival Youth Songwriting contest and had won a youth scholarship to Nanga Festival.

In 2018, Finn began to hone his skills at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and began to stretch his musical wings and began playing in backing bands for various other Perth artists including Clay Western and Siobhan Cotchin. In 2019 he appeared solo at Nannup Music Festival and soon after this decided to take his music to a band format, inspired by the likes of Paul Kelly and the Messengers and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. His band features members of Jack Davies and the Bush Chooks and Dave Brewers Deluxe Combo.

In late 2019 the newly formed Finn Pearson Band put out their first studio-quality single, 'Housing Estates' which has since racked up a couple of thousand streams, and threw themselves into the local scene. Supporting the likes of Lincoln Mackinnon and the Wrecking Train as well as touring acts such as Bobby Alu and Declan Kelly, this folk-rock group are one to watch out for.

The latest single "Interstate Road" was released on April 8th and instantly received high praise and attention from Perth music publication Around the Sound, who described it as "A country infused ballad (that) may just become one of those songs that is remembered through time, not only because it’s a fine piece of music, but also because it captures the moment we’re living in so eloquently." This release sees Finn Pearson and the band refine their sound and begin to engage with the music and the stories on a whole new level.

can imagine this one as the saloon door swings in the wind and the bar flies drown their sorrows.
