THE FIOR is a Melbourne Indie-Rock band formed in 2019.
The band consists of Irish-born singer/songwriter Conor Bermingham, lead guitarist Ben Rohy, bassist Damon Brammall and drummer Jesse Porter.

Conor, Ben and Jesse met in their final years of high school and began writing songs together in the summer of 2017. They formed the group Social On The Veranda. Damon later joined the band in 2018 after meeting Conor and Ben at university.

SOTV was active from 2017-2019 and in that time the band recorded a 6 song EP and played numerous support and headline shows including a sold out EP launch at Matthew Flinders Hotel and a headline show at Northcote Social Club. They supported bands such as We The Kings, British India and Make Them Suffer and worked their way to the finals of the ‘Battle of the Bands’, playing on The Push stage at St Kilda Festival

In 2019, the band reflected on two years of experiences and adventures. They decided that although they wanted to continue their music journey together, they were in need of a fresh start. Moving on from Social on the Veranda, The Fior was born.

When Conor was rediscovering who the band was, and what it stood for, he came across the word ‘Fior’ - an Irish word for 'truth' and ‘real’. Resonating with him deeply, 'The Fior’ became their way forward, into the next stage of their journey.

From January - May 2019, The Fior wrote upwards of 50 songs. Choosing the strongest to take with them to the studio, the band set off to record at Neil Grey’s Big Sky Audio, in the way that felt the most true and real to them - as a band playing together live.

The Fior released their debut single ‘Outsider’ on August 7th, 2019 and launched the single live at ‘The Catfish’ in Fitzroy on September 7th. Second single 'We Don't Know What We're Here For' was released in November, with the single to be launched live at 'The Workers Club' in Fitzroy on November 30th, join the band and be part of their journey as they bring their sound to the world.
