Bio

FisherKing burst onto the Aussie music scene in 2008 and have been on the rise since since winning the Triple J Unearthed FUSE Festival Competition in early 2009. Bringing a fresh new approach to blues 'n' roots, FisherKing’s captivating brand of pop-laden acoustic blues and coastal roots has caught the eye of music fans and critics alike. The Sydney four-piece, which features Sam Stephenson on vocals and guitar, Josh Leong on bass, Paul Hanna on guitar and Luke Robertson on drums, have had a busy twelve months since releasing their EP, produced by Genevive Maynard (bluejuice, former member of Stellar 1-11) which showcased their energetic and heartfelt lyrics, accompanied by music which moves effortlessly from smooth, soulful tunes to strong, energetic groove. FisherKing have just finished a 15 show national tour and are back into the studio to record their eagerly awaited first album.

Cruisy, but really confident stuff. Each of their songs paints a strong picture of an act with loads of potential.

these guys are a solid Sydney roots band - they play smooth, rootsy indie that paints a picture of beaches, surf, and zero worries. i expect to see them trailing the never-ending roots festival circuit in the coming year
