Bio

FLASKAS ARE HERE!!
Debuting on New Year's Eve 2016, Flaskas have evolved into one of Australia's most exciting live acts – sharing the stage with luminaries such as Ash Grunwald, Boy & Bear, Tijuana Cartel, The Black Sorrows and many more. Their latest single, Song Bird, continues their musical tradition of Earth Rock: an organic blend of alternative world, coastal and Indigenous music that fuses the high-powered spirits of roots, funk, folk and blues.

Set in motion by singer-songwriter Chris Flaskas, Earth Rock delivers thoughtful, philosophical lyrics in an orchestration of contemporary and native Australian instruments. The band's debut album Kingdom Come spawned two incredible singles that found a welcome reception on MTV, Triple J, and over 50 radio stations worldwide. Propelled by the chemistry between Chris Flaskas, percussionist Duncan Barker, bassist Jasper Lambert and guitarist Marcus Lay, the band embarked on what was to be a solid few years of touring.

Within those few years they have become a formidable live act capable of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with any band in the world – earning their place on Sea N Sound, Caloundra Music Festival, Horizon Underground Festival, Ocean Street World Festival, Airlie Beach Music Festival, Agnes Blues Roots & Rock Fest, Hills Festival, World Environment Day Festival, the Noosa Festival of Surfing, as well as headlining the Commonwealth Games Welcoming Ceremony. The sound, ideology and energy of Earth Rock has found its audience.

Never resting on their achievements, Flaskas continue to push forward towards a new album and yet more touring. Following on from previous singles Afterglow and Feeling The Rhythm, Song Bird kick-starts this important new chapter in the Flaskas story. Produced by James Russell at Heliport Studios, Song Bird marks both the development of the band, and where they are headed next. Globally conscious, with a distinctly Australian heart, Flaskas personify the new vanguard of artists whose work forges an unbreakable connection between our planet and the diversity of people who call it home.

The phrasing of this song is quite catchy and the music gets there in the end with the bvs bringing a new element to the song.
