NEW SINGLE 'BETTER OFF' OUT NOW!
‘Better Off’ is an outpouring of frustration, a pleading and need to change a relationship steered off-course. The song builds with the intensity of an unkind lover, bounding from the groovy verse bass lines to the distant, distorted screams of exasperation in the final chorus. Just like a break-up, it’s aggressive and defeated all at once - a kind of exorcism for a relationship most deserved.
FLOSSY have been hot on the scene for the past 3+ years, playing festivals around Australia (SOTA, St Kilda Fest, In The Pines, BIGSOUND) and touring over east and have made a name for themselves as a premiere band in their hometown of Perth. ‘The Mess You Made’ was their first release of 2020, gaining attention and airplay from Triple J and Triple J Unearthed radio.
This was shortly followed by ‘Carry On’, a reminiscent and apologetic track. Dreamy guitar swells and delicate vocals, ‘Carry On’, is a far cry from high-powered previous single, yet just as passionately executed. The melodic hooks feel so sentimental and right, capturing the song’s story; complimentary harmonies and vocal echo’s that make you feel like you’ve experienced this narrative firsthand.

The directness of these lyrics are great. No point dressing it up in useless metaphors! The way Sinead and Lauren combine vocally is a real winner too.

The harmonies really got me here, those voices together are *chef kiss*. It's grungy and emotive and cathartic. Great stuff!

lap up the grungey 90s harmonies and dark guitars whilst basking in the masterful lyricism of one of WA's best pairs.
