Bio

The Flying So High-Os have announced their long-awaited sophomore studio album, available online Friday May 8th.

The band recorded the album right in the heart of Footscray's underground music community, The Reverence Hotel (R.I.P). Throughout early January 2018 the band and producer Michael Fitzgerald (of The Smith Street Band) utilised the venues back room as a makeshift studio, known for it's incredible live sound. The Album was also mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Total Control).

4 years on from the release of their debut album, "There's Gotta Be A Better Way To Do This" welcomes the addition of member Jamie Kemp, providing newfound sonic elements such as electric guitar, trumpet and accordion. These instruments compliment the signature nylon string sound of frontman Jerome Knappett, and complete the outfit, feeling fuller than ever before.

The Flying So High-Os are "verbose, heartfelt songwriting with a little folk punk grit." The latest single "Turns Out It Was Sick And Everything Was Sick" is a quick glance into a record that explores many polarising and dark lyrical themes. "This song is mostly about dealing with anxiety, sometimes in ways that don’t help and sometimes in ways that do. It’s the oldest song on the record and the one that took the longest to write" - Jerome.

things i do not know about: thermodynamics
things i do know about: that this song (esp. the hearty vocals) makes me feel real nice and cosy and warm
