Bio

Eclectic, intimate and hypnotic Brisbane sextet, Founds, have had a fast start to their musical careers. 2011 saw Founds play at Big Day Out, Peats Ridge Festival, support for The Naked and Famous, Ben Ottewell (Gomez), Grouplove, Owl Eyes, Oh Mercy, Gossling, as well as a series of packed local and interstate shows. A raw energy glistens from their live performances in the vein of Mogwai, Björk and Sigur Ros. Their debut album 'Hadean' is due out mid 2012. ------- 'A left-of-centre Scandinavian pop feel' - Rave Magazine 'They resist classification so strongly that I’m loathe to compare them to anyone.' - whothehell.com ------- http://founds.tumblr.com/ ------- THE GEMINI TOUR w/ FIRE! I knew from 'Holograms' that Founds had the promise to make something truly special with their debut record and if 'Avalanches' is any indication then that prophecy will come true. This is ambitious and cinematic chamber indie, making for a very dramatic three-ish minutes.

That gentle guitar brilliantly sets the mood for a haunting track, the urgency of the rhythm section keeps the airy impulses from drifting off. There's potential here.

This builds up so spectacularly and the vocals are as enchanting as a magical forest. Definite Grimes in the vocals there. So soulful in the instrumentation, can't stop listening.
