Artist:Francisco's Fortune

Francisco’s Fortune is the indie-rock brainchild of Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist and singer, Manik Mayadunne. Mayadunne began writing, performing and recording songs in his bedroom as a teenager, and continued to refine his art through university, starting up the jazz-rock band Room 6 with friends at medical school. As the lead singer and guitarist in Room 6, he performed regularly in the live music scene in Sydney, developing a strong local following. It was at the beginning of 2014 that the decision was made to take time out of full-time medicine to pursue his musical career, and so Francisco’s Fortune was born. With a new alias came a new chapter of melodies and lyrics, and Mayadunne teamed up with ARIA-nominated sound engineer and producer, Lachlan Mitchell, to capture his first professional studio tracks at Jungle Studios in Sydney. Francisco’s Fortune have just released their second single ‘The Bells’, and will be playing at The Oxford Art Factory on March 19 to celebrate.
