Jetson, raised on the rolling hills of Mt Smoke in north-west Queensland, moved to Sydney and met Ginger 'Snap' Dempsey and Tom 'Baby Jesus' Clarke who had been playing together in a successful gospel band in Sydney’s hills district. The trio had a brief stint as 'The Beggars Band' which included a full winter residency at Mount Pirongia Ski Resort in New Zealand's Waikato region. On the week long island cruise home they met entertainer and comedian Angus Famous, who had been touring his one-man show 'Hairy Jazz Man' with a band which included drummer Oliver 'Twist-n-Shout' Williamson, percussionist Charlie Blue, and renowned guitar-smith 'Smokey' Lou Mosley.
