Bio

Gap Year was formed in early 2019, with members having played together in various configurations around Perth W.A. Through a mutual appreciation for mid-80s Australiana, the band tries to capture the melodicism of The Church and The Go-Betweens, whilst drawing on the production stylings of modern groups such as Real Estate and The War on Drugs.

Could be that high-key Australiana factor to their music or it could be that I'm just a tragic - but to paraphrase an Australian cricket selector I'd say that Gap Year are in the form of their life. Each song they upload is as elegant and authentic as a Shaun Marsh drive.

on this one from gap year i'm feeling all nostalgic for late nights working and hanging with mates and i spose sneaking in some study where i can. those real estate-esque guitars were never not going to make me smitten too!

i meant to review this back when i played it but obviously dropped the ball, so just wanna come back now. the different vocalists and harmonies work so well, it's kinda downcast but still comforting indie from these beauties and i'm getting my go-betweens fix this arvo thanks to this.
