GIRL is an electronic music duo conjuring queer sounds from the heart of darkness and the city of light (Kaurna Yerta / Adelaide). It is both a creative and romantic partnership between Sweeney and Em. Their music floats between genres fusing pulsing electronic production with dark neoclassical inspired piano ballads. GIRL work as both a touring band and as creators of immersive sound-based performance works. GIRL have released a series of well-received singles over the last 2 years. Their first, Train/Water, was released both digitally and as a limited edition, sold out 7” record. Train reached #66 on ThreeD Radio’s top 100 countdown in 2017 and Water received widespread national radio play including on Triple J and Double J. In late 2017 the duo embarked on their first National tour of Australia which included shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane and Nimbin and featured support slots from such artists as Shoeb Ahmad (Tangents) and Marcus Whale (Collarbones). ...
