Gogarty is a blend of different musical tastes that unite together around a rare and haunting vocal. Vocalist Kate’s music journey started at the young age of 14 when she played in her father’s touring band, which consequently gave her material for her first writings. Later, Kate moved to Sydney to follow her dreams and cement herself in the fabric of the Australian music scene and it was early in 2009 when she arouse the interest of then Thirsty Merc guitarist and producer, Sean Carey. Who later invited her to record in his studio. But things did not take off for her as she soon discovered the sacrifice required to pursue the original music route. She found herself playing covers and gigging three to four times a week in the local pub haunts. However, things did change and persistence paid off. After showcasing at the Big Tree Artists’ Big Sound showcase in 2011 she was quickly singed to a Management deal. Now, with a full band in tow (Kate, Bill, Joe and Bucko) Gogarty have just finished their debut single launch tour. The first single ‘Don’t you ever’ was released in May. Gogarty recorded the the soon to be released album with Benjamin McCarthy (Pete Murray, Kate Miller-Heidke and Thelma Plum fame) and Sean Carey(Thirsty Merc).
