Bio
gold blum are an alternative rock band making music on the Central Coast. They have a new single called Be Something, which they’d like you to have a listen to!
Armed with home-designed merch & a DIY-or-die ethos, cousins Kalun Townsend (lead) and Jordan Crotty (guitar) set out to build themselves an outlet to play live, build a community around them & let off some emotional steam.
The vessel for such doings is gold blum, adding two good mates to create a four piece alternative rock group that sounds like the musical identity of their born-and-bred home of the NSW Central Coast - waves of raw energy through their coastal upbringing, but with the songwriting framework demanded of an act that’s situated so close to a major city and determined to make an impact on people’s emotions.
A late 2019 weekend staycation at the famed The Grove Studios with producer Fletcher Matthews (Sweater Curse, CLEWS, Dear Seattle) allowed the band to bring the wild, loud & live energy & killer songwriting they’ve been honing to new heights, on February release Tonight. That collaboration is revisited on their blistering earworm of a new single Be Something.
Prior to the pandemic, they maintained their commitment to touring with their most expansive tour yet across the East Coast, beginning with the second annual event of their own DIY Eskyfest, raising more than a grand for Black Dog Institute. That’ll continue for 2021 along with a bunch of other tour dates to be announced v soon.

There's a really fun energy and melodic charm here that I think any fans of Catfish & The Bottlemen will absolutely adore. Great stuff guys!

straight into it with THOSE GUITARS isn't it! Hearing the strokes and the Hives underneath these guitars but don't get it twisted, this is still a modern guitar record.
