Bio

Brisbane six piece Golden Age of Ballooning are back with their first single in 2 years - BIRTHDAY. A three minute uptempo psych-out about a drunken birthday inspired existential crisis. GAOB have been hard at work on their debut album, stay tuned.

Full bio:

Releasing their first EP 'Don the Winter Coats' in 2014, Brisbane six piece Golden Age of Ballooning quickly became known on the local scene for their lush vocal harmonies and crowded stages.

After winning the Inaugural 'Qube Effect' competition in 2015 the band became very active in the Brisbane community, performing at council events such as Brisbane Festival, Parks Alive and Story Bridge 75.

They began to win fans across the country when singles 'Love & War' and 'So They Say' both garnered strong support from local and national radio - including glowing reviews and regular airplay from Triple J and rotation spots on Double J. They grew their new fan base through touring across the country including shows with Alex Lahey, British India and Wolfmother.

2018 was another growth year with the release of Savage Mountain, an auditory exploration of the true story of a mountaineering disaster on K2. Recorded by Konstantin Kersting (Tones and I, Mallrat) and mixed by Matt Redlich (Ball Park Music, Holy Holy) Savage Mountain received national airplay and glowing reviews.

Cool to hear you expanding into some new territory. As full as ever, with a bit more of a Silversun Pickups nod on this one.

that groove hooks you in immediately and then it gets all adventurous and bold in it's psych travels.
