Artist:The Green Whistle

There wasn't enough rock on the Gold Coast, so five muso's got together to create The Green Whistle. In early 2010 former members of local metal outfits The Sever Project and Face of Mutiny, James, Olly, Chris, Noz and Stanger decided they wanted something different, something more fun, something less metal and something that rocked. They got together in a tiny room and after an hour of guitar squalls, feedback, furious drum and bass rhythmns coupled with gravel-guzzling vocals, they had their first song. Taking their queues from rock royalty The Stooges as well as the more moderns sounds of Kyuss, Faith No More and Turbonegro, The Green Whistle have created songs as rocking and as catchy as anything that's come out of the Gold Coast in recent years. After recording in Brisbane in October, 2010 and May 2011 released the six track Childproof Spectacular EP in late 2011.
