Having spent the bulk of his music career as a driving force in local Brisbane stalwarts, Hey Geronimo and Montpelier, the last five years saw Chiapello take a short detour from performing and touring to focus on completing a university degree in speech pathology before dipping his toe back into the land of pop music touring with the likes of Megan Washington and Airling on their respective national tours. This year, Chiapello reunited with friend and producer Graham Ritchie (Japanese Wallpaper, Emma Louise) to record 'Overboard'. The song was mixed by Matthew Redlich (Holy Holy, Husky) and mastered by the legendary Greg Calbi (John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen). The song is a powerful and deep dive into Chiapello’s experience that can’t help but draw hope out of the dark, a trademark feature of his work.
