Bio

From a young age Hallie has never feared vulnerability in front of an audience. Infact, that is where the 20 year-old pop-rock artist thrives. Hallie’s innate aptitude to humorously comment on ordinary society, and express her own playfully honest and relatable stories, demonstrates self awareness beyond her years. Her quirky lyrical content pairs delightfully with the provocative and stimulating nature of her entertaining live performance.

Her sound consists of an extensive musical vocabulary with influence from a range of genres. From Joni Mitchell to Ball Park Music, from Stella Donnelly to Paramore, Hallie’s sound has been shaped by an assortment of unique musicians. From her indie folk roots Hallie has built a distinctive pop-rock sound with the occasional jazz lick. Each song of hers reveals the layers of her artistic maturity, her idiosyncrasy as the foundation.

2019 has been a very busy year for Hallie. In March she dropped her single, ‘What’s Good?’, a surprising musical track that speaks with vulnerability about growing up. The song has received widespread positive reception across Australia for its mellow melodies and jazzy undertones. Following that, ‘Nice Like Rice’ another single showcasing Hallie’s alt. rock influences, was released. Accompanied by a tongue-in-cheek music video which premiered on Pilerats and was aired on Rage, the single saw big love all over the country. ‘What’s Good?’ and ‘Nice Like Rice’ are only a taste of the diverse and evolved sound embodied in her forthcoming six-track debut EP out September 27th.

On the live front, this year, Hallie has performed with the likes of Verge Collection, IVEY, Spacey Jane, Eliza & The Delusionals, Stumps and Gena Rose Bruce. Early this month, Hallie played Bigsound 2019 where she won the Triple J Unearthed Bigsound Competition that saw her perform at the Unearthed Stage. That week she was also Triple J Unearthed feature artist. Off the back of an incredible Bigsound run, Hallie has announced that she will be supporting Holy Holy on the QLD leg of their album tour, alongside Carla Geneve.

The tone and just how you sing is so exceptional and a favourite to listen to. It feels like a page taken out of your diary, but spiced up by 10000000.
5 minutes of pure love for this and your stunning songwriting. Absolutely gorgeous.

having seen hallie's voice live i can confirm it's a beast that can do all the tricks and 'stuck in mud' is another beauty to show it off.

Five minutes long and across that duration I kept thinking that I’d heard the songs climactic moment only for you to take things up another notch. Your live show put that vocal front and center but it’s great to have a song that backs up just how good that voice is. Mighty.
