Bio

Hello Jane sounds like Carole King had a baby with Paul Kelly and became friends with Missy Higgins; a classic blend of folk storytelling, pop melody and a voice that is sweet a pie.

There is a beautiful silence in the audience that is all too familiar for emerging singer/songwriter Hello Jane in the first moments of any performance. It is the combination of her effortlessly angelic voice that in harmony with her 'get to the point’ songwriting that stops you in your tracks and holds you in its grip until the very end of the show.

While only having a handful of singles under her belt, Hello Jane has seen much success with her debut single ‘Everything’s Alright’ placing as a finalist in the Listen Up Songwriting Prize 2020, ‘Feeling Blue’ notably selected for Brisbane City Council’s QUBE Effect program 2021, and a live performance of her new single ‘Something Else’ winning ‘The Songwriting Prize 2020’ for Tablelands Folk Festival in Cairns.

Hello Jane worked with award-winning Producer and Engineer, Yanto Browning on her single ‘Something Else’. The track came together with support of some of Brisbane’s finest musicians including singer/songwriter Danny Widdicombe (Electric Guitar), award-winning composer Bradley McCaw (Organ, Piano), Darran Muller (drums), and Steele Chabau (bass).

Jane has kicked off 2021 by successfully curating a first-of-its-kind ‘Songwriter’s Summer Series’ tour that produced unique performances for emerging songwriters across Southern Queensland, and has already played on some of Queensland’s most iconic stages, including ‘The Old Museum’, ‘Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall’, ‘The West End Sessions’, Brisbane, ‘Tablelands Folk Festival’ Cairns, and ‘Gympie Muster Music Festival’ Gympie. The end of 2021 will see Hello Jane perform at festivals and intimate venues across Australia, as well as another self-curated tour series titled ‘Friends of Folk’ with other emerging Queensland songwriters in July 2021.
