Bio

The new single "When Will You Lay Down" from recent sydney galactic poppers Hello Vera marks a new and exciting development in their sound. 'When Will You Lay Down' was recorded late one night in June and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the group, being the first track recorded since the band graduated from a duo to a four piece. Hello Vera have described this new single as a "bridge" to their follow up EP 'Clouds/Things Above Our Heads' which sits somewhere between the ceiling and where the stars start. With the recent launch of their debut EP, 'Pigeons' to a packed out FBi Social, Hello Vera proved they are just as dynamic on stage as in the studio, making them a formidable live act worthy of your attention.

This is a nice curveball after On The Road. Giving me a bit of slow, sleaze funk Doobie Bros-like vibe which is always going to win points with me. 3 and a half big ones!

Quite a dreamy tune that sounds a little bit old and new at the same time.

Simple, pretty, fragile at points yet strong in others. A little big of everything in this tune. I love how they mess with all the polyrhythmic stuff yet it just has this straight ahead pop sound that draws you a in. A little bit of complexity underneath some ethereal vocals. Thumbs up all round.
