About
Swinging from bruised, fragile melodies to dramatic noise-fuelled cacophonies, HELTER have been bringing their dynamic and intense live shows to venues around Sydney for over three years. Described by The Brag as ‘lusciously melancholy’, the sydney quartet draw influences from such sources as australian indie luminaries Bluebottle Kiss & Big Heavy Stuff, Neil Young, Nick Cave and the bad seeds, and Death Cab for Cutie * * * We started off in high school as a three piece with rough chords and questionable covers and singing through guitar amps. The library of original material slowly grew. Then a first EP was recorded at the beginning of 2004, at the cosy Clubhouse studios in Glebe, with the amicable underground vet. Geoff Holmes.
