Bio

Sydney based indie-pop trio Hollow states is a collaboration between singer-songwriter Huck Hastings and brothers Joel and Hayden Woolf.

After taking some time to write, and to refine their sound, Hollow States emerge with their stunning new track I’ll Leave. Produced at Golden Retriever studios by Andy Bull, ‘I’ll Leave’ sees the band exploring new sonic territories and expanding upon the themes off their 2017 EP ‘When Our Time Has Gone’ - which was launched at Oxford Art Factory to a capacity audience and scored them a supporting spot for Olympia on her Different Cities tour.

Pairing lush and expansive arrangements with Hastings’ distinctive vocal sound, ‘I’ll Leave’ is a tale of personal triumph and conviction that is at once vulnerable and full of strength.

“In the studio it always felt like we were making something special. It‘s very heartfelt without being overplayed; it’s very charming, and Harrie’s voice has the makings of something quite iconic. The whole thing is quite beautiful, really. Can’t wait for people to hear it. “ - Andy Bull

“Getting to work with Andy Bull was a dream - he is an incredible producer who was able to bring all of the emotion in the song up to the surface.” - Hollow States

it's got this cool exterior but a personal interior that really shines. and the low key pop aesthetic works so well.

This is such a pleasing indie pop track with some memorably sweet vocals and breezy production feel. It shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that they recorded it with Andy Bull.

melodically interesting, and a terrific chorus. verse 2 could use a little lyrical polish. like it and keen to hear more.
