Bio

Canberra singer-songwriter Hope Wilkins has emerged with a repertoire of indie-folk anthems and heartfelt ballads, already beginning to captivate the nation’s capital with her arresting live performances and signature harmonic falsetto-runs. Hope began penning both personal and perspective experiences, quickly rising to become the capital city’s talk of the town.

Drawing influence from the likes of Dermot Kennedy and Angie McMahon, Hope began to demonstrate her talent for bold, confessional lyricism through a string of raw and vulnerable releases and performances, playing alongside the likes of Greta Stanley, Sputnik Sweetheart, ARCHIE and Art vs Science. With a seamlessly unique vocal range and the addition of a full band, Hope leads listeners on an emotional rollercoaster filled with both big smiles and heartbreak.

Introducing herself through her debut single ‘Waste’ in 2019, Hope started to pick up some momentum, securing a spot in the triple j Unearthed music video competition and gaining triple j airtime on Home and Hosed with Declan Byrne.

Following fan favourites ‘L.I’, ‘You & Other Drugs’ and ‘Fly For Me’ earlier this year, Hope is now gearing up for the release of her debut EP ‘Coffee Cups’, a milestone that will see the indie-folk artist cap off this challenging year with her biggest new release to date, as well as concluding 2020 with a nomination for the Best Live Act in the ACT at the National Live Music Awards.

Hope has charged this track with emotion and an endearingly messed up energy. Cos life can be a huge fkn mess sometimes.

it's a personal tale that just explodes and that cathartic break out around 2:30 is life giving.

Great to hear from you lady. I love the rawness you bring through that guitar and into your songwriting. It must be liberating to let it all out.
