Bio

Househats are post-millennial malaise come to life spitting and kicking at life’s frustrations and moribund fantasies — like a Noah Baumbach movie hooked up to a busted car battery — but still imbued with a resilient spirit that refuses to stay down.

Fronted by Norwegian expat (and World Moustache Championship attendee) Freddy Fostvedt — with the other two sides of the Househats triangle completed by bassist Margy Noble and drummer Joshua De Laurentiis — the Melbourne trio bash away at pithy tales of contemporary struggle delivered with a lackadaisical drawl and staccato insistence.

It’s not post-rock, garage-punk, or a hyphenated anything really: it’s just Househats, and that’s enough. It’s a knowingly great time with those that mean the most to you, the times you’re down and don’t believe you can get up, the peaks of your best times and the crushing unknowingness of what’s to come… and that’s all right.

Great drive and energy, can definitely see people shouting out STOP STOP! with a beer in hand. Noice.

I love this band so much I'm not even going to put a stop-related pun in my review. It would've been witty, I promise.
