Bio

Debut album "Running out of Time" out March 29, 2019!

Househats are post-millennial malaise come to life spitting and kicking at life’s frustrations and moribund fantasies — like a Noah Baumbach movie hooked up to a busted car battery — but still imbued with a resilient spirit that refuses to stay down.

Fronted by Norwegian expat (and World Moustache Championship attendee) Freddy Fostvedt — with the other two sides of the Househats triangle completed by bassist Margy Noble and drummer Joshua De Laurentiis — the Melbourne trio bash away at pithy tales of contemporary struggle delivered with a lackadaisical drawl and staccato insistence.

It’s not post-rock, garage-punk, or a hyphenated anything really: it’s just Househats, and that’s enough. It’s a knowingly great time with those that mean the most to you, the times you’re down and don’t believe you can get up, the peaks of your best times and the crushing unknowingness of what’s to come… and that’s all right.

i've got two weeks of holiday time starting in under 5 days and if it wasn't for that then maybe this song and the message might make me seriously shudder. more great song writing from househats and a great slice from their new record.

You've caught me on an especially monotonous Monday hitting play on this gem three times. Excellent job.
