Bio

Hudson & Troop, the brainchild of Melbourne’s Travis Aulsebrook, has been somewhat of a quiet achiever in the last few years. Earning a Triple J J Award nomination in 2014 for ‘Frameless’ (music video), he’s returned in 2015 with a dark future-folk offering in the latest single ‘The Dream’, released on Friday 31st July.

The track combines lush atmospheric production and silky beats with Travis’s distinct vocals to create something truly unique. Produced by fellow Melbournian Pip Norman (Jarryd James, Tuka, Dan Sultan), ‘The Dream’ paints a sinister reality of a young girl putting aside all hopes & aspirations just to get by in a new city. It was co-written with Texture Like Sun’s Mark Pearl, and whilst initially demo’d on a rustic nylon 6-string it underwent quite a transformation once Travis and Pip went to work in the studio.

Having released two EPs (2011’s Open Up Slowly EP, The Undertow EP in 2013) and a string of singles in 2014, H&T have found a loyal following online with 7 million+ plays across services like Spotify, Pandora and Youtube. With recent high rotation adds on Double J and Triple J Unearthed, the future is looking bright for a debut full-length release set for early 2016.

You create moods so quickly with your music. This is another beautifully detailed slice of storytelling here.

Starts off intimate but builds into something epic and heart-stirring. What a rich and detailed world you've created here in just one song..
