Bio
Perth-based bluesy/indie Americana rocker Michael Paolino, better known as Husband, will release his debut album, ‘The Money’, on January 23, 2015.
The songs were written over a two-year period when he was adjusting to the idea of well, becoming a husband.
Produced in Los Angeles with Rick Parker, who is best known for his work with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the album continues on the path of Husband’s signature brooding sound.
First single ‘Caught’ was added to rotation on Double J and Triple J Unearthed, alongside spins on Home & Hosed and Weekend Breakfast; RTRFM92.1, Triple R, 2RRR, 4ZZZ, FBi 94.5FM, 96FM and other stations around the country.
Husband emerged in late 2011 with the release of a self-titled EP, which reached number 119 in the CMJ Top 200 chart in the US and hit the Top 30 at 35 stations, including KSYM in San Antonio, Texas where it reached number 1.
His growling baritone and gritty, honest storytelling was described as “a much more southern version of The National” by WSYC radio in Pennsylvania, while influential blog PopMatters said, “Paolino manages to sound like a peak-era Glenn Danzig striding into a pop masterpiece written by Chris Isaak.”
The track ‘Ordinary’ went onto win best rock song at the WAM Song of the Year competition in WA.
'The Money' is available on vinyl, CD or digitally on Bandcamp (from January 23, 2015):

Review
Really spot lon tip of the cap to Johnny Cash's American series on these opening vocals, which then opens up to a beautifully expansive song. Open road music. Great tune guys.
