Hypnolia are based in the Northern Rivers of NSW and are cosmic musical veterans of long standing. Trying to avoid the incessant beats that so dominate modern electronic music has seen them revert to more traditional influences such as Heldon, Klaus Schulze, Fripp &Eno, Tangerine Dream, and other 70’s pioneers, and they aim to reproduce as accurately as possible those classic sounds of the genre using a combination of analogue and soft-synths with epic guitars played LIVE. It’s simultaneously a new and deeply traditional take on the Berlin School and is unique on the Australian scene: They are Dr Greg: Bass and Synths As a pioneer of Australian Krautrock in the 70’s he played with Clear Light of Jupiter artists both live and in the studio maintaining an interest in the genre throughout a long career in funk bands in such venues as Brisbane’s Family nightclub right into the 21st century, and was part of the Australian line-up of the legendary Euro space-trippers GONG.
